About Course

This CSTF-aligned course introduces equality, diversity, and human rights. It explores these terms and the benefits of valuing equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in healthcare. It also introduces the Equality Act 2010 and the Human Right Act 1998. 

Learners will not only study the various types of discrimination, inappropriate behaviours and bias, they will also learn how to challenge discrimination, promote inclusion, and understand the responsibilities we have to uphold equality, diversity, inclusion and human rights.

What Will You Learn?

  • By the end of this module, you will be able to:
  • define the terms 'equality', ‘diversity’ and ‘inclusion’
  • identify the protected characteristics recognised by the Equality Act 2010
  • explain the benefits of valuing and having an effective approach to equality, diversity and inclusion
  • explain what health inequalities are.

Introduction to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
This e-learning session meets the statutory and mandatory training requirements and learning outcomes for infection prevention Level 1 in the UK Core Skills Training Framework (UK CSTF).
