Course Overview

Promoting equality and diversity should be at the heart ot all organisations. As a healthcare worker, you can help ensure that we exercise fairness in all we do to ensure that no individual, community, or group is left behind.

This online Equality, Diversity and Human Rights e-learning course is designed to teach you how to promote diversitv and inclusion and aiminate discrimination in the workforce.

The Equality Act 2010 will be covered, and you will learn the nine protected characteristics and criteria. Our equality ad diversity course will finish by exploring real-life case studies of harassment, bullving and discrimination. You will consider how these can affect a person’s physical and mental health.

What you will learn

  • Introduction to Equality & Diversity – In our first unit, you will be introduced to all concepts of equality and diversity, and the possible barriers for each will also be explored. The team will finish by examining how individuals can become more self-aware to ensure that they are not acting in a discriminatory way. This unit will also consider each of the protected characteristics identified in the Equality Act 2010, at the end of this unit will be several case studies that show how protected characteristics are related to discrimination.
  • Discrimination and the law- Next, you will be looking at how policies and the law can help shape a more inclusive workplace.
  • Unacceptable conduct in the workplace In this unit, you will explore the different ways we need to know about people from different backgrounds and why it is essential not to make assumptions about individuals.
  • Reporting concerns In the final unit, we will consider what to do if an individual wishes to report a problem about bullying, harassment or discrimination.
